Copprclay modeling clay, composed of metal particles, which after modeling if we bake it remains hard as metal, making it a fantastic material for making jewelry and easily customizing our pieces.
We can make sculptures, jewelry and other objects.
The material is reduced by 17 to 20% after firing.
Instructions for use:
1) Open the vacuum pack and remove the piece of clay.
2) Condition the piece of clay with a little distilled water or another type of oil. We can condition our hands for this task.
3) Once the piece is finished, we must let it dry before baking it, we can put it on a radiator or some low-temperature heat emitter, we can also use a small dehydrator.
4) We must bake the bronzclay inside activated carbon, this will reduce the oxidation of the pieces. We can fire several pieces leaving a space between them with activated carbon. We do not recommend that parts touch the metal container directly. We can use a stainless steel container to put the active carbon and our bronzclay designs.
Baking times: set a cooking ramp from 927ºC to 982ºC and hold for 3 hours, total cooking time including heating 4 hours.
5) Once the piece is fired, the piece can be sanded, burnished, patinated or soldered with traditional materials for jewelers.
If we want to add enamels on our copperclay we must do it in two phases:
phase 1: for pieces 3 mm thick or less, place the pieces directly without the activated carbon on the oven tray and cook at 278ºC for one hour and keep at 293ºC for 15 minutes, if the pieces are thicker than 3 mm cook at 93ºC for one hour and hold at 293ºC for 15 minutes.
Phase 2, depending on the thickness, we must place the pieces between the activated coconut charcoal and bake. The cooking ramp must be up to 954ºC and hold for 3.5 hours.
