Pastel is a pictorial technique from the group of so-called dry techniques, which does not use any solvent and is applied directly to the work surface, unlike oil paint or watercolor. It can be applied with dry chalk and good quality paper and grammage as a support, neutral color, not white and slightly rough, although the technique is versatile enough that it can be used on other surfaces (cardboard, wood, cloth, etc.) .

It is a quick technique, easy to correct and very appropriate for sketches, notes or color tests. It is easy to work with both because of its opacity and when applying it to a surface. Pastel is a technique that combines drawing with painting, since it is drawn in exactly the same way that spaces are later painted. This material works very well for color gradient work.

The pastels are modeled by hand, with a high concentration of pure pigment, a synthetic binder, and air-dried. The colors are bright, velvety, with excellent coverage and resistance to light.
